According to a report by Expots News, coach Lee Jong-beom has confirmed his joining as KT's coach in the 2025 season. The team's announcement is expected soon. A KT official said in a phone call with Expots News on the 23rd, "It is true that I have a positive conversation with coach Lee Jong-beom."

Coach Lee Jong-beom, who joined the Haitai Tigers in 1993 and started his professional career, is a legendary figure in the KBO League. He contributed greatly to his team's victory in the Korean Series from the first year of his joining the team, and set an incredible record of 84 steals (the highest number of stolen bases in a single season in the KBO League) in the 1994 season. He became a model of the "hotajun," and became a superstar representing the KBO League in the 1990s.

Coach Lee Jong-beom, who also led the Korean Series in 1996 and 1997, succeeded in advancing overseas by wearing the Chunichi Dragons uniform of the Japanese professional baseball league. After returning to Korea in mid-2001 after four seasons in the Japanese league, Lee Jong-beom led Kia again as a veteran player for a long time. Lee Jong-beom contributed to the success of the Tigers by winning the Korean Series for the first time in 12 years in 2009. 

Coach Lee Jong-beom ended his active career at KIA in 2012 and began his leadership career at Hanwha Eagles in 2013. Since then, coach Lee Jong-beom, who has built his knowledge outside the baseball stadium as a commentator, has started to work as a field leader again while wearing the LG Twins uniform from the 2019 season.

During the 2023 season, Lee spent one season as LG Twins' first base operations coach. Lee, who helped his team win the title in 29 years, was thrilled to win his first team title as a leader. Lee Jong-beom moved to the U.S. with his son Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants) who moved to the Major League in the 2024 season after the end of the 2023 season, and received training as a coach at the Texas Rangers.

Coach Lee Jong-beom, who recently returned to Korea, accepts KT's proposal and starts his career as a field leader again from the 2025 season. There was also a great presence of Lee Kang-chul, who had been with the Tigers for a long time. Coach Lee Jong-beom spent his last season as an active player, and the two leaders will regroup on the field for the first time in 13 years since 2012 when Lee Kang-chul was a KIA pitching coach.
